Biography and education
Marzia grows up in a family environment strongly influenced by art and handicraft.
Her father, Luciano, is the owner of a fasteners and fixing production company; her grandfather is a painter. This is the person that will raise Marzia’s passion for creativity and art and inspire her own perspective of space and room.
In 1981 she obtaines Artistic High School diploma at School of Art Beato Angelico of Milan, and in 1984 a degree in Interior Design at ISAD, Istituto Superiore di Architettura e Design of Milan.
In 1984 for 2 years she works at Architetti Associati Studio of Milan, togeter with architect Stefano Colombo. She starts working in studios for Grazia Casa, architecture periodical of Grazia, in addition to real design projects.
Between 1986 and 2000 she works as Stylist and Art buyer for many periodicals, like Casaviva of editorial group Mondadori.
Under pen name Alessandro Corda, she also worked for Casa Amica, a weekly pubblication of RCS group. Others periodicals that asked for her professional partnership are ELLE Decor, Brava Casa and Donna Moderna.
Later she is Style Curator of Cyrus Company, designing products and set-up of stores and fairs. She also manages exhibition stands and store booths of Boffi and Cappellini International.
In 1999 she moves to Kenya where she organizes photography camel safaris along borders of Tsavo National Park. One of the most important projects of this African period is surely her makeover and direct management of the eco-resort Che Shale, on Mambrui Coast, which is still today characterized by her imprint. In 2003 she founds Be Clever, a project focused on eco-design and she opens a store in Malindi to sell products of this company, based in Mambrui Beach. At the same time she starts manufacturing home furnishings and decor supplies. From now on, she works fitting villas and resorts in many places of Kenya.
She also designs accessories, jewelry, bags, swimsuits, first ideas from which she develops entire collections. Moreover from 2006 to 2012, she achieves Rubino Island, the oceanside headquarters of her company. During years this place became a foundry of ideas: the workshops to manifacture most of pieces and products have place on this African beach.
In 2014 she moves the store Be Clever from the former place in Malindi to the new resort of the Italian businessman Flavio Briatore, the Billionaire Resort.
In 2013 Marzia goes to Ibiza, initially to set the terrace of Las Boas, a building projected by Jean Nouvel, in Marina de Botafoch. This work makes her fall in love with the island, where she decides to move to. The first container of products from Kenya arrives in Ibiza in April 2014. The unique style revoking Africa of her works let her get a special place in a such eclectic market of the most famous Balearic island.
In the same year one of the most important of her clients charges her working in South of France, in Languedoc region: it’s the project Chateu Castigno.
Since end of 2015 she works on interiors of Es Drap in Formentera.
